The Middle School Business Conference – ACS

This is the official site for the Middle School Business Conference hosted by the American Community School of Abu Dhabi. All information about the conference can be found below. Please take your time to carefully read all the details.

Overview

📑 How to Register

Each school may nominate up to 4 individual middle school students (ages 11–14) to participate in the conference. Students will prepare their own original business idea and present it independently on stage.

 

Registration Deadline: October 15, 2025

 

Who Registers: A teacher or school staff member must complete the registration on behalf of the school. The form also requires the confirmation of parental consent of each registered student.

There is no participation fee.

📚 Student Preparation Guide

Once registration is confirmed, each student will begin an 2-week guided preparation period to build their business concept. Students will be encouraged to think critically, research independently, and apply real-world problem-solving techniques.

What Participants Will Work On:
  • Develop a business idea based on a real-world issue

  • Conduct market research and define a target audience

  • Create a simple business plan and pitch deck (max 10 slides)

  • Prepare a 5–7 minute live presentation with visuals

  • Understand key concepts in innovation, feasibility, and communication

 

Support materials and a full competition guide will be shared with all confirmed participants.

🏆 Judging & Awards

All students will present live on stage at the ACS Auditorium in front of peers, educators, and a panel of judges made up of business professionals and industry leaders.

  • Creativity & Innovation

  • Feasibility & Real-world Potential

  • Market Understanding

  • Financial Thinking

  • Communication & Presentation Skills

Each category is scored out of 10 points.

Awards:
  • 1st Place – Best Business Idea

  • 2nd Place – Runner-Up

  • Most Innovative Idea

Judges will provide brief feedback following each presentation. Awards will be announced during the closing ceremony.
